Drawings and sketches don't just exist in isolation, so this web site puts in context the circumstances that surround living as an artist, along with the constant challenge of not getting snowed under by the mundane, which conspires to convince us of the lie that we are all less than the Divine.

So every mark I make, no matter how humble, is a victory.

Now to avoid being pretentious I'll just get on with sketching....

3 Pears

3 Pears pencil drawing
Nothing much to say about this one. Simple pencil drawing on the kitchen table.

Feel a real urge to sketch out and about around the town. Hope this rain stops soon.

Abstract Artifact

Abstract Artifact - pencil
Was having a conversation with my friend Ian McNinch, (a fellow member of Working Artist Studios), about his sculptures and admiring the forms he uses in his work.

Immediately afterwards I went up to my studio and sketched this little piece in my Moleskin which is based purely on my response to Ian's work at that moment.

PS Ian's work is Waaayeeee!! more interesting than this little sketch.
